The Hillsborough County Medical Association (HCMA) is a membership organization of the physicians and medical student of Hillsborough County. The HCMA Foundation, Inc. is the charitable arm of the HCMA.
The HCMA Foundation is a network of physicians and local businesses dedicated to enriching our community. “Physicians’ Guide for Opting Out of Medicare”
Effective January 1, 1998, a physician or practitioner may enter into a private contract with a beneficiary for furnished services for Medicare. As provided in section 4507 of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, a private contract is a contract between a Medicare beneficiary and a physician or other practitioner who has opted out of Medicare for two years for all covered items and serves he/she furnishes to Medicare beneficiaries. read more...

Approved 1115 Research and Demonstration Waiver Application
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved AHCA’s proposal to waive certain federal statutory provisions and move forward in reforming Medicaid as authorized by Senate Bill 838. The draft 1115 waiver application was posted on Agency's website on August 31, 2005. AHCA submitted the waiver application on October 3, 2005, after posting the draft application for 30 days as required by Senate Bill 838. CMS reviewed the application and after intensive negotiations with Florida, granted approval. read more...
